Current campaigns

 

The speak! primary education campaign

 

This group is still in its infancy, but we have been working on the production of our first informative reader (booklet) for young children (grades R–3). And this is only the first of what we hope will be many. From these, we would like young children to learn how to care for the environment and for non-human animals with the kindness that will help restore the harmony between the other three elements that form the focus of speak! : people, environment, animals. We desperately need illustrators and donors. If you can help, please contact anneke@speaksa.co.za.

 

Additional campaigns

 

In addition to the campaigns undertaken by speak! under our street theatre and education banners, we also team up with like-minded individuals or groups wishing to promote or combat a cause that is important to them. For example, in 2015 speak! collaborated with the young group Move Beyond Factory Farming in promoting veganism, and in 2016 we will be working together with No Foie Gras South Africa in campaigning against this 'delicacy of despair'. If you would like to contribute to this campaign, contact Anne at anne@speaksa.co.za, who will be coordinating it. We will also be combatting factory farming in general (for example by means of mobile billboards, leafletting, etc - mail mireille@speaksa.co.za) and the abuse of pigs in particular (mail clairwyn@speaksa.co.za).
