Ethical Community and Spiritual Values

A better world starts with each individual

In order to support full human development within a flourishing earth community, we must reorient our economy. A green economy needs to go beyond eco-efficiency and green growth to enable us to make the shift that will guide us in living in such a way that all can live. Spiritual and ethical values are central to this.

We dream of a world without poverty; a world that is equitable; a world that respects the dignity of all living beings and of the natural world; a world in which we understand the empathy and regard required from us in order to genuinely reduce poverty and protect the earth’s natural resources; and a world that is environmentally, socially and economically sustainable, in which challenges such as climate change, loss of biodiversity and social inequity have been successfully addressed. This is an achievable dream, but we must collectively pave a new way. The current development pathway is deeply flawed and will not enable us to realise our dream (https://sustainabilitytreaties.org/draft-treaties/ethical-and-spiritual-values/, adapted).

We will be adding much more to all our pages, so this site will keep growing.
